Lucas Oil Off Road Series at Speedworld in Suprise, AZ
This was one for the record books. The weather was hot for October and the racing was off the hook!
Saturday was a battle for points. The points leader Chuck Cheek in the neon car fought all race long with Mike Halladay in the green machine! It was a clean race with lots of passing and inside moves at the corners. In the end, it was Chuck Cheek at the top of the podium, then Mike Hallady and Larry Job. Alumi Craft unlimited buggies dominated the top 10 with a total of 7 cars!
Sunday was even better....the race was full of excitement, bumping and pushing in the corners. Bobby Pecoy raced out in front right after the green flag and couldn't be caught the entire race. He raced a clean and consistent race. The action was all behind him. Chuck Cheek spun out on the first lap and was shuffled to the back of the pack. He spent the first half of the race moving forward and until he was just behind Mike Halladay. The fans were out of their seats in the stands! With just a few laps to go, Chuck passed Mike on the inside of a turn. But, Mike Halladay was not done. Mike raced the last few laps with visions of neon. Just in time for the black/white checker, Mike Halladay passed Chuck Cheek to take second place. Alumi Craft took the top three positions: Bobby Pecoy, Mike Halladay and Chuck Cheek. Alumi Craft also managed to sweep 6 of the top 10 positions as well.
